About

This very handsome young man is me.

In case you want to thank me somehow or show your appreciation for the work that I've put into this website, you could of courase, if you want, donate some money, or buy me a pizza. I'd really appreciate it!

About

Hi, my name is André, pleased to meet you. I'm the person behind this website. You may also know me as 'ustoopia' from my YouTube video's or as 'Dre' from my blog.
I decided to build this website because in the last couple of years I've been writing several how-to guides on how to build your own live-stream server. I wanted to place them all together, centralized in a knowledge base for easy reference. Not just for myself, but also to allow me to share my efforts easily with the rest of the interwebz. I'm hoping that the knowledge base will be a help for you in setting up your own live-stream platform.
When I first built the site, it was on a domain that doesn't exist anymore. I kind of forgotten about this site for a very long time. When I was doing a web server migration, I found it again, and I decided to bring it back online at a different domain. So there ya go. That's basically the history, so far, behind this website.

What now?

I don't know. You tell me! I have no idea whatsoever. I just really wanted to put this knowledge base out there, so my job is complete. Initially, I built this website for myself. But now, I'm actually secretly hoping that many people will find their way to this website, and once they leave, it will be with a feeling that they've learned something. That would be great. But I wouldn't mind earning a bit of extra living-money through it, either! In case you followed one of the guides, and want to thank me for it somehow, then you can show your appreciation by donating some money to me.

Anything else?

Hmm nope. Can't think of anything right now to be honest. So I'll say goodbye with these last words: don't hesitate to join the community by leaving a comment if you just want to say thank you, or if you have any questions. Cya!

Optimizing First-Frame Bitrate for HLS

When responding to an HLS request, the streaming server determines which video quality (i.e., ts file) the client will attempt to play before switching to a lower or higher quality video.
